About Blue Cross Travel Assistance
Travel assistance is included with all travel insurance contracts. Your clients can refer to our team of specialist before, during and after their trip, 24/7 all year long.
Your clients can find the phone numbers to contact Blue Cross Travel Assistance in different places:
- On their insurance certificate
- In their Client Space, including the wallet card available on the mobile version
- In the insurance policy
How to submit a claim
If a covered event occurs while travelling, your client must contact Blue Cross Travel Assistance as quickly as possible at one of the emergency numbers in the table below.

Your client can submit a claim online or by mail:
Online
Your clients must go on the Canassistance website and choose from two options:
- They can download PDF versions of the claim’s documents, print them or fill them on their computer and submit them online. They must also add any extra document required to process their claim.
- They can fill out the online form and attach any extra document required to process their claim.
By mail
Your clients must send a completed and signed claim form, their original invoices or receipts and all other supporting documents to the address below. A list of commonly requested documents is available under each coverage in the travel insurance policy. The claims documents are available on Canassistance’s website.

Specific instructions for each coverage
Emergency Medical Care
Your client must contact Blue Cross Travel Assistance before going to a hospital or clinic, otherwise their claim may be denied.
If your client’s medical condition does not allow them to contact Travel Assistance, a relative or member of the medical staff must do so on behalf of the client within 24 hours of the onset of the medical emergency.
Trip Cancellation and Interruption
Your client must contact Blue Cross Travel Assistance within 48 hours of learning of the event that leads to the cancellation or modification of their trip.
Baggage
In the event of delay, theft, vandalism, or loss of baggage, your client should contact Blue Cross Travel Assistance as soon as possible.
